Description

Dear Community Member-
The Upper Valley Hockey Association is a nonprofit, volunteer run organization whose mission

is to introduce the youth of the greater Upper Valley to the game of hockey, so that every child in
the program can enjoy a positive experience through sportsmanship, teamwork, integrity, and
respect for all individuals, while developing a love for the game. We offer introductory and
competitive level hockey programming in a balanced hockey environment that fosters a life-long
love of hockey and encourages players to be multi-sport athletes, while also providing a
competitive hockey experience.
In March, we will hold our annual Skate-a-thon Fundraiser which doubles as a season ending
celebration! We will have a DJ, potluck dinner, chuck-a-puck competition, skating, and prizes.
The players are given pledge forms and are encouraged to collect donations to fund
need-based scholarships and offset operating expenses, thus keeping registration fees as low
as possible and hockey more accessible for all.
The 2023-2024 hockey season has been an exciting one for us thus far. We have over one
hundred and fifty youth athletes learning to skate and playing hockey for Storm. With three
teams at the 10U level and two squads at 12U and 8U travel, we are demonstrating healthy
association numbers across the board. At the 14U level, we have successfully partnered with
Woodstock Youth Hockey Association to create two competitive Bantam teams. We hosted a
USA Hockey “Try Hockey for Free” event this season with a record eighteen registered event
participants, and almost half of them ultimately registered for our Storm Academy “Learn to
Skate” program. We continue to be a place in the community where families can play hockey
at an affordable price point.
As a 501c3, not-for-profit organization, we need your help to ensure that no eager, interested
child is discouraged from play due to a lack of means. We would be grateful for any donation
you are able to give towards this event or our associations operating cost. We sincerely thank
you in advance for your consideration and support.
With appreciation,
UVHA Board of Directors
