The Women's Athletic Association at the University of Chicago is hosting our annual fundraiser, Slam Dunk, for local Special Olympics teams. The event will take place during our university's men's and women's varsity basketball games on February 17th, 2023. The main form of fundraising is a raffle held throughout the course of the evening. We are seeking a donation that we can use as a raffle prize. Last year, we raised over $6,000 for local Special Olympics teams, and we are hoping to raise even more this year, as oftentimes, the teams we support are in great need of even basic equipment to participate in their sports. We also use the event to highlight the talents of Special Olympians by inviting them on the court at half time to take part in a scrimmage and shoot out competition. All our sponsors are recognized before and during the event through social media, announcements and posters.
