AAH provides therapeutic interactions and vocational opportunities to youth with needs.  We do so using largely rescued, hand-raised small and mid-sized barnyard animals (mini horses, donkeys, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, mini pigs, sheep, and goats).   Research supports that our friendly animals are a magical bridge between our volunteers and these special kids who, oftentimes, connect with our animals in ways they may find elusive in the typical world. We serve youth in the Silicon Valley through our Mobile Barnyard (bringing animals to special education classrooms, hospitals, and medically fragile day care centers); Farm Visits (private field trips to our AAH Smile Farm in the middle of busy Silicon Valley); and, Vocational Education at the AAH Smile Farm (enabling teenage youth to develop and practice skills that may translate to outside employment). Most important is the sense of purpose this animal connection provides and the smiles the animals create for youth with needs. 

We will be using the donation in our silent auction at our annual Fall fundraiser. All funds raised will go towards our mission. We rely on this fundraiser to help keep our programs free to our clients.
