SMU Chi Omega's Bid for Wishes
Other Event Type for Make-A-Wish Foundation of North TexasApr 20, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wish of every eligible child with a life-threatening illness. Granting wishes “sparks the imagination, inspires children to consider limitless possibilities, and fuels their drive to defy the odds and push toward tomorrow.” Wishes can inspire hope, build strength, uplift spirits, and encourage the belief in the impossible.
We are thankful for our partnership with Make-A-Wish North Texas because it allows our chapter to play a part in the transformative power of wishes. Beyond simply raising money, our sisters have been Make-A-Wish interns, wish granters, and even former wish kids, and we are grateful to them for deepening our connection to the mission of Make-A-Wish.
One of the ways we help grant wishes is through Bid for Wishes, our most prominent family event of the year. SMU Chi Omega hosts Bid for Wishes each spring, and over the years, this event has helped us raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to grant wishes. In fact, for the past two years, our chapter was the #1 fundraising Chi Omega chapter in the nation, raising $250,000+ for the foundation! This event consists of live and silent auctions to benefit Make-A-Wish and will take place this year on April 20th at the Arts District Mansion in Downtown Dallas.
In years past, we have received a wide variety of donation items, ranging from gift packages to merchandise, to specialized experiences. We would be truly thankful if you would consider donating to our cause. All donations are tax-deductible.
Thank you for considering donating to SMU Chi Omega to benefit The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Our goal to grant as many wishes as possible could not be realized without your generosity.
