Soar into Excellence
Online Auction for Hayward Education FoundationJun 17, 2021 5:30 PM to Jun 22, 2021 10:00 PM
Help us to support our teachers and students, who are returning to in-person classes this September, after 18 months of separation.
The Hayward Education Foundation (HEF) is a non-profit organization (501(c)3) whose purpose is to enhance the educational opportunities of students in all Hayward schools. We achieve this by providing innovative classroom projects which improve student skills as well as encourage a life-long love of learning. Since 1983, we have given over $1,040,000 to Hayward classrooms.
During the Covid “recess”, we were able to fund over $40K in materials to support distance learning. It was our goal to help teachers and students have the books and manipulatives that were necessary to offset the one-dimensional experience of teaching and learning on a screen. The teachers, schools, and their projects are listed on our website to give you an idea of what was accomplished. (haywarded.org/projects)
Soon, teachers and students will need the opportunity to lift off and soar into excellence...to leave behind the constraints of distance learning and to collaborate with each other in project learning and problem solving.
Our 2021 online Spring Fundraising event, “Soar into Excellence” will be an online auction from Thursday, June 17 -Tuesday, June 22nd. It is our goal for 2021-2022, to raise money to give our teachers more tools and resources that will expand lessons and capture students’ imaginations.
Today, we are asking for your help for this worthy cause. We are now seeking donations for items for our online auction. Donations from businesses like yours will ensure that HEF can continue its valuable Classroom Project Program. This is also a great opportunity to promote your business and show your support for the students and teachers in our community. With your help, we can put more innovative projects and tools into Hayward classrooms. A majority of Hayward’s student population comes from highly disadvantaged families. These students are most at risk and have the highest need, especially compared to other school districts. That is why your partnership is invaluable to us. We want to do more for these students, so they have the same opportunities to be engaged and excited about learning.
Thank you for your support and generosity. Together we can help support our teachers and students, who are all returning to in-person classes this September, after 18 months of separation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at (510) 862-3702 or by email at penny@haywarded.org.
