Sodbusters is a Western-style dinner dance that kicks off the local rodeo.  The dinner dance has a steak dinner, silent auction, live auction, raffle, mechanical bull, and live band.  The event ordinarily hosts approximately 850 people and raises approximately $50,000-$60,000 per year.  Rotarians and community volunteers assist with all aspects of the event.  The proceeds are then utilized by the Rotary Club for an annual project.  Funds have been utilized for a number of projects, including purchasing a passenger van for a local homeless organization to transport students to school, purchasing a passenger van for a local high school's vocational education program, and reinstituting a music program in local schools after funding was cut, to name a few.
