Our school is raising money toward building a library for our students. This is the first event of what will begin a long, but impactful journey to build a library at our school, putting more books in every classroom and increasing access to literacy for our students and their families. 

We are hosting a "Community Market" where our families, students, staff and local businesses are donating items to be sold or raffled to go toward a library for our school. These items can include food items, craft goods, gift cards and any other donations that may be helpful toward raising money. 

We are aiming to accomplish 3 main goals with this event: 

1. Raise money to go toward a library for our school and to put more books in classrooms to support literacy and a love for reading and learning.
2. Make community connections and partnerships. In addition to asking for donations and volunteers we are also inviting local businesses and organizations - including family-owned businesses from our own school to showcase what they do and bring attention to their business as well so that we can support them as they support us. 
3. We are holding this event during parent-teacher conference week so that we can increase participation between school and families and make those interactions positive experiences.
