We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month through an essay and art contest for our scholars. We are calling our celebration #SomosInspirados where we are asking our scholars:

“What Latino/Latina/Latinx figure has touched your life and/or influenced you, and why?”

This contest also supplements their current language arts and fine arts curriculum. The contest is open to scholars of all ages and the winners will receive Acero HHM swag and recognition on our social media pages.

Students in Kindergarten-5th grade are invited to submit a creative work which could include, but is not limited to, works of art (digital and traditional media), crafts, songs, videos, photography, poems, theatrical works and story retellings.

Students in grades 6-12 have the option to submit a 500-word essay or creative piece addressing the prompt.

Two K-5 winners will be selected, and one 6-12 essay and one 6-12 creative piece will be selected for grand prize raffles.
