Description

My name is Monica Ku, President for A Little More Support. We are a public non-profit organization that aims at helping children who need their basic needs met, such as clothing, food, and school supplies. We also focus on helping children to attain their academic goals through scholarships. Our Federal Tax ID is 82-2275585.

We are hosting our 5th fund-raising event, Sonic Smash Charity Badminton Tournament on 8/12/22 – 8/14/22.

Our annual event has grown quickly in the past few years to become the largest amature tournament in the country. Our participants reached more than 400 people in 2021. This August, we are expecting more than 500 participants.

In light of COVID, we safely held the event with no spread by implementing strict social distancing rules, minimize contacts, kept the facility sanitary, and had disinfectants available throughout the facility. This year, we will continue to do the same and require proof of vaccination.

The event categories span from under 9 years old to combined age of over 110 years old for doubles partners. The venue is the largest badminton facility in the USA, Synergy Badminton Club in Fremont, California. The team at A Little More Support developed a proprietary AI technology to minimize human contact in between games and efficiently regulate the rundown of the day.It is truly a one-of-a-kind event that all badminton players are looking forward to in the Bay Area.

The participants of the event are mainly Asians with medium – high income level and high education background.
