On Saturday, February 5, 2022 the Westchester Food Pantry will be hosting its third annual “Souper Bowl” fundraiser.  At our last inaugural “Souper Bowl” fundraiser, about 325 guests attended and $12,500 was raised. We want to continue to deliver a nice, fun event to our community. This coming tasting event will feature 18 local chefs and their best soups, as well as bakery, non-alcoholic beverages, raffles, silent auctions, and entertainment. The event will be held at the Divine Providence, Westchester, IL. The event will be promoted on social media, websites, newspaper ads, mass emails, flyers, word-of-mouth (out last event got great reviews), etc.

The Westchester Food Pantry serves nearly 250 households each month, and it’s growing, from the communities in our Illinois, western Cook County service area of Berkeley, Bellwood, Broadview, Hillside, Hines, La Grange Park, Westchester, and Western Springs.  During the 2020 pandemic, we remained open, as many other food pantries closed their doors. 

We are open every Wednesday night and Saturday morning, and clients can come to our Pantry once each month to receive everything from bakery to canned goods to frozen meat to fresh produce, and even food for their pets.  Each client leaves with a substantial amount of nutritional food.  Our pantry is entirely volunteer-run and relies totally on donations to meet our clients’ needs.
