Souper Bowl Saturday is one of Groton Senior Center's annual favorite fundraisers. This event will be happening Saturday, February 12, 2022. Local restaurants donate soup, bread, chips and dessert which are served. People have the opportunity to sample the variety of soups as well as buy raffle tickets for the sports memorabilia donated by professional and semi-professional sports teams as well as area businesses gift cards. This is an all age community event enjoyed by all who attend.

The Groton Senior Center is a division of the Town of Groton Parks and Recreation Division.  Groton Parks and Recreation Department is founded on four pillars of service to the community.  Health and Wellness, Economic Activity/Development, Conservation, and Social Equity form the foundation for the department to positively impact the Quality of Place in Groton.  Each day approximately 300 plus come in the Groton Senior Center.  Additionally our center is NOT just for Groton residents, approximately 30% non-residents are regulars.  Our Community Center has approximately 350+plus individuals and families utilizing our classes and activities daily.  More than 3000 non-residents have participated in Recreation classes and events.  We offer programs that will reach or interest everyone in the community. We strive for programs that meet the social, emotional, environmental, occupational, intellectual and physical needs of the clients we serve.

Our department does fundraising throughout the year so that we are able to keep costs of programs down and to be able to provide scholarships for those in need.  We strive to provide new, innovate and changing programs to meet the needs of the people in our community and surrounding communities.
