We are preparing to celebrate another year of equipping students to become life-long, bilingual inquirers and responsible citizens of the world. The Wharton Dual Language Academy (WDLA) Spring Gala will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Big Brothers Big Sisters (1003 Washington Avenue, Houston, TX 77002).

Will you help us raise funds for the school by becoming an event sponsor or donating to the silent auction? 

Students from all walks of life come to WDLA for its challenging dual language immersion, advanced curriculum, and creative and culturally informed learning experience. WDLA is a special place where 50% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch and nearly 45% are learning English as a second language. In 2022, WDLA earned an A+ rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) in recognition of outstanding student and teacher achievements.  

Funds raised from the spring gala will help offset the cost of maintaining WDLA’s International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, support teacher training, and bring special programs to students like Writers in the Schools (WITS) and chamber and jazz music encounters from DACAMERA. Our goal is to raise more than $60,000 this spring!

All gala sponsors and silent auction donors will be recognized on WDLA’s social media (~1,000 followers), digital newsletter (# recipients), and the night of the event (200+ attendees). Your donation will help enrich the lives of the more than 600 students who depend on us. Thank you for your consideration!
