The 8^th Grade can be financially burdensome for many of the families at the Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School. As it is the final year in the Canterbury public school district, before students go off to surrounding high schools, there are several special activities and events for 8^th Graders that families are financially responsible for. The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), would like to provide Scholarships to help offset these costs for our families. To do so, we must have successful fundraising. Thus, we are planning a major Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction Fundraiser for mid-November. We truly cannot meet our goal without the help of businesses like yours. 

That is why I am writing to you. Would you consider donating to our Silent Auction Fundraiser? The proceeds will be used to provide Scholarships for our 8^th Grade students, in an effort to make their final year in middle school enjoyable without being financially burdensome. We are coordinating our Silent Auction Fundraiser for mid-November, to attract folks as they start to think of holiday shopping; hoping that the community will benefit from fantastic holiday gifts as much as our students will benefit from the much-needed Scholarships. With our rigorous advertising agenda, we anticipate guests from many of the central and northeastern CT towns.
