On Friday, May 19, 2023, Maternal Mental Health NOW is looking forward to convening for our annual Speak Up When You’re Down Gala at the Westdrift Hotel in Manhattan Beach, CA. The goal of our Speak Up When You’re Down Gala is to honor and celebrate individuals who have survived perinatal depression, anxiety, grief, loss and other hardship, and the friends, family, providers and community leaders who have supported and advocated for them. This year’s theme, Cultivating Community Voices, celebrates the varied and powerful voices that are advancing Black birth equity, justice, and living at the county and state level. The event
features a cocktail reception, seated dinner, silent auction and entertainment. We anticipate 250 guests from across Los Angeles County and beyond to be in attendance. Proceeds from the gala will be used to support Maternal Mental Health NOW’s training, public awareness,
and advocacy activities, which include the Black Birth Workers Community.
