Description

Provident Behavioral Health, a 162-year-old behavioral health agency,

inspires HOPE because we believe mental wellness is the foundation of a life well lived. One in five people experiences a mental health disorder each year, and tragically, someone dies from suicide every eleven minutes. Fortunately, Provident is here to inspire hope and to help anyone in need.

You too can help inspire hope! On Saturday, February 4, 2023, Provident Behavioral Health will host our annual Spirit of Provident Gala at the Chase Park Plaza. This is our largest fundraising event of the year, with a goal of raising over $400,000 to help our community. Gifts to this event provide critical funds for behavioral health services, including: 24/7 crisis intervention and suicide prevention, individual and group counseling, psychiatric services, older adult residential programs, and Afterschool programs. In 2021, we served over 65,000 individuals, families, children, and older adults.

We anticipate nearly 500 guests at the Gala and funds raised will allow us to continue our mission of building brighter futures through exceptional behavioral health services. Our silent and live auctions are traditions of our Gala, and are a fun way to raise funds to support our mission. Your gift to our Gala auction will help support our most pressing needs:

·         Provident’s 24/7 crisis hotlines received over 61,000 calls in 2021. Our Crisis Services department has recently grown from 30 to 80+ Crisis Intervention Specialists and we are excited to be a 988 crisis center to help change and save even more lives. We help hurting people every hour of every day and every hotline call we answer is free to those in need.

·          In 2021, 377 children between the ages of 5 and 14 participated in our Afterschool Program at 11 area schools. We keep our Afterschool kids engaged in mental well-being activities, STEAM lessons, and artistic and recreational activities through virtual, in person, and hybrid models.

·         Mary Ryder Home offers compassionate and comprehensive care to women with behavioral and physical health needs. Mental well-being is a top priority for the residents of this program.

·          Our counseling and psychiatric services clients range in age from 3 to 85, and 47% of clients report a household income of less than $30,000. With the support of the community, we are able to provide our services at little to no cost to those who otherwise could not afford to seek help.

Your philanthropic support is essential to sustaining the mission of Provident Behavioral Health. Please consider a donation, such as a gift certificate, gift basket of items, or monetary donation to our Gala auction. Every dollar raised presents an opportunity to help even more people. Please contact me with questions at mbauer@providentstl.org  or 314-802-2581.
Donations are needed by Friday, January 13, 2023.
