Description

Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy PTO is a 501(c)(3) organization comprising of parent volunteers collaborating with teachers and staff at Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy (MASA) in Livermore, California. MASA is a Title 1 Elementary school with about 430 students attending grades TK through 5th grade. 

64% of our students are Hispanic 

54% are Socioeconomically Disadvantaged

37% are English Learners

22% are students with disabilities (SDC friends)

MASA PTO organizes fundraisers and events throughout the school year to support students and teachers while strengthening our community. MASA PTO is holding its Annual Spring Festival community event on Saturday, April 20th, 2024. All proceeds from this event will go to our Garden Fund. The MASA Garden is a key part of our school. It serves as an outdoor classroom and learning environment for our students but is currently not easily accessible for all students requiring accommodations. Beginning April 1st, our school is undergoing a huge renovation project as part of the Measure J Bond Program. This construction will give us an opportunity to clear the ground and rebuild the garden from the ground up. As a result, we are planning to redesign our garden layout and ensure the garden is fully accessible to all of our students.

We aim to raise a minimum of $5k for the Garden Fund from this year’s Spring Festival to help kick off the garden renovation project and purchase needed supplies, such as new irrigation, better seating, sensory and therapeutic engaging features, and more!
