I am writing on behalf of the Wharton Dual Language Academy PTO to request a donation for our Spring Gala and Silent Auction on April 27, 2024.  At this event, typically attended by 200-plus community members, we auction gift baskets, merchandise, memberships, and services generously donated by businesses like yours to raise funds for critical school programs.

Wharton Dual Language Academy, a Title I school in Montrose, offers a unique environment for students to fulfill their potential through an academically challenging dual language immersion and International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. Coupled with creative, service, and cultural pursuits, our curriculum prepares our students with a profound understanding of the world and a deep sense of the importance of community. As of 2021, our school diversity includes 69% Hispanic, 11% African-American, 16% Caucasian, 2% Asian, and 2% multi-ethnic children.  47% of our children are from economically disadvantaged homes, and 43% are English-language learners.  In 2022 Wharton achieved an A+ rating by the TEA.

Your support will enable us to keep our commitment to upholding a life-defining educational experience for all of our children, including the IB program, teacher training, Art League classes, the WITS writing program, the Da Camera music program, and a host of other projects.
