Description

Spina Bifida Wisconsin, Ltd (SBWIS) is the only non-profit 501c3 in the state of Wisconsin (39-1594831) serving Wisconsin’s families affected by Spina Bifida. Since our start in 1995, we are committed to enhancing the lives of our members by providing resources, financial assistance, peer support and social events in our community. Neural tube birth defects, like Spina Bifida, cause lifelong disabilities that range from mild to severe. We strive to raise other’s awareness about the unique needs of people with Spina Bifida. We are ambassadors, peers and educators changing the lives of those we serve.

SBWIS will be holding the 29th Annual Sprint for Spina Bifida on September 24th, 2022 at Greenfield Park. We recognize the unique challenges that people with Spina Bifida face - multiple surgeries, mobility issues, shunts, latex sensitivity, limited options for care, school and work accommodations to name just a few. When our families encounter obstacles, they consistently go above and beyond to over-come their difficult situation. This event celebrates the accomplishments of our members.

This event typically brings together 250+ people from Central, Western, and Eastern areas of Wisconsin. Future services to SBWIS members depend on the success of this event. Funds from this event support our mission, support peer support events in the community, support families with hardship costs, support purchase of adaptive recreational equipment, and support camperships and college scholarships. With your help, we can REACH FOR THE STARS and help more families.

SBWIS is requesting an in-kind donation for our event raffle. Donors will be acknowledged on our website, Facebook page, and on signs at the event. Please help us make a difference in 2022.

On behalf of the Wisconsin residents served by SBWIS, thank you for your consideration.
