Dear Sir or Madam,

STEPS is dedicated to building stronger families in our community by offering a variety of services: supervised visitation monitoring, safe exchange, mental health counseling, educational classes, mentoring through our Better Life Program, and providing visitation rooms to families that are involved in the child welfare system (Department of Child and Family Services).

STEPS also serves as a community resource center by referring clients to other helpful resources, agencies, and organizations.

STEPS is asking if you would be willing to contribute to STEPS’ 7th Annual Duck Day in May!

(Due to the recent impact of COVID19, we have been forced to change our original event date of May 16, 2020 to August 29, 2020).

Safety-Training, Education and Prevention that provide life-changing Solutions.

Community donations like yours help our nonprofit organization serve over 300 individuals per month.  Our clients include families of all shapes and sizes, and the children that are the future of Fort Smith.  The STEPS Board, staff and volunteers appreciate your support in helping us build a stronger community.

WHAT IS DUCK DAY

PLEASE NOTE OUR ORIGINAL MAY EVENT DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO AUGUST 29, 2020 DUE TO THE IMPACT OF COVID19.

PLEASE NOTE OUR 5K EVENT WILL BE  NOVEMBER 14, 2020  DUE TO ANOTHER COMMUNITY RACE WILL BE HELD ON 8/29/2020.

To bring awareness to the foster care crisis in the River Valley area, STEPS holds its largest annual fundraiser each year in May. Since 2013, “adopted” rubber duckies have been “racing to keep kids safe!”

The day starts in Ben Geren Park with the “Quack, Waddle, and Run” - a 5k timed and chipped race, and 1-mile fun run/walk.

We then shift over to our Family Fun Festival in front of Parrot Island Waterpark, where families can enjoy games and fun activities for the kids, and entertainment for all ages.

We end the event with our Duck Derby Race, where 1000 rubber duckies race down Parrot Island’s Lazy River as their “adoptive parents” cheer them on in hopes of winning one of our wonderful donated prize packages! Parrot Island offers discounted tickets for those that wish to stay and swim.
