Description

Please consider supporting Our Village Closet’s (OVC) 2nd Annual Fundraiser Event, a Storybook Evening, on September 16, 2023,  by donating an auction item and/or becoming a sponsor for this event.

  • Every 2 minutes, a child enters foster care in this country.
  • Every day in Sonoma County, between 50-75 children have open cases in the dependency system.
  • Every week, 100’s of local families are impacted by the trauma associated with addiction, abuse, and neglect.

Foster care happens in our neighborhoods, our groups and clubs, our places of work, among our friends, and in some of our own families.  Yet for so many, the face of foster care, the effects of trauma, and the ways we can help remain unknown.  Our Storybook Evening will be a fun evening with inspiring stories of hope to connect us and shed light on this significant community issue.

OVC’s fundraising efforts focus on continuing our programs that ensure:

●   Sonoma County youth affected by foster and kinship care receive needed, ongoing supplies  and support at no cost - that they feel seen and heard

●    Sonoma County foster and kinship caregivers receive ongoing supplies making  it easier to say yes and care for the youth placed in their homes - that they feel seen and heard

Sonoma County foster and kinship caregivers have support and connection to resources that help navigate the complex dependency system and any special needs
●    Sonoma County becomes a more trauma-informed community, aware of all the ways to support those affected by foster care.

As a donor, your efforts on behalf of these deserving youth and caregivers will give you pride as a caring and contributing business leader in our community.
