Street Samaritans is a 501c3 approved grassroots nonprofit serving people in the Chicagoland area experiencing homelessness and poverty. We provide supports and services including direct outreach and case management, food, clothing, living essentials and transitional services. The mission of Street Samaritans is to intervene in the cycles of homelessness and poverty by connecting people to solutions and walking with them on their journey.

The Open Hearts Gala will have around 300 attendees and will feature a cocktail hour, seated dinner and presentation, live music and dancing, silent auction, and other performances. It is being hosted at The Dalcy in downtown Chicago. The event is four hours, and has been MC’d by Chicago TV Personality Whitney Reynolds for the last 3 years. The gala typically fundraises over 60% of our programmatic funding for the following year. This year’s funds will go towards funding additional community outreach workers to meet people experiencing homelessness and poverty where they are, and also go towards fundraising for a drop in center on the west side of Chicago where we will be able to provide both physical and behavioral health services. Sponsors and donors will be featured in pre-event promotion through social media (IG/FB) and radio, inclusion of logo on website, inclusion in event printed program, event presentation, signage at event, our annual gala recap video, etc.
