To Whom It May Concern,

We kindly request a donation for the July 13, 2024 Strike Out Stigma fundraising event to be held in Auburn, Illinois attracting over 300 people annually. We are seeking items to be used in a silent auction.  We are a 501c3 raising funds to continue the efforts of reducing self-harming and suicide rates targeting the pre-teen and teenage community.  The money we raise is used to provide prevention, intervention, and post-vention support to youth, schools, families, and communities who struggle with attempts or suicide completions and are in fear of reaching out for mental health assistance.  Crisis intervention and assisting in accessing professional services is our focus.  We have had a dramatic increase in need for our services since 2020.  We service schools and communities across the US and Caribbean.  Funds raised through our silent auctions are used to provide training to school faculty and staff as well and train teens in peer intervention techniques.  In Jan 2021, the CDC and Surgeon General published 7 areas of focus to reduce suicide.  We are proud that we have been doing 5 of them since 2014 because we are teen focused, and teen guided with what their needs are.

Teen suicide rates are now at an all time high.  In fact, every 5 minutes we lose a teen age 9-25 year of age.  We have been able to assist in saving many lives across the nation and would appreciate any assistance you could provide to help us continue our work.
