Description

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, approximately 3,500 infants die every year from sleep-related deaths. Theo Wolf is one of those infants. Theo was a happy and healthy 12-week-old infant that was full of life and his smile was infectious. Tragically, in August 2019 Theo died at his daycare as a result of unsafe sleeping practices.

The Theo Wolf Foundation is a non-profit organization with a mission to promote and educate the public on infant safe sleep practices. By educating the public on infant safe sleep we hope to keep as many infants safe while sleeping and save another family from the heartbreak of losing a child.

During the past year, with seven volunteer board members and the generous support from donors, the Theo Wolf Foundation:

  • provided more than 1,800 free Safe Sleep Kits to parents and caregivers of infants
  • provided 5 Pack-n-Plays to our local homeless shelter and 4 cribs to local families in need of a safe sleep space for their infant
  • offered 17 infant safe sleep educational classes with childcare centers, local parent groups and teaching institutions
  • trained 250 individuals on infant safe sleep
  • served and reached thousands of parents and caregivers of infants in our local community, statewide, nationwide and worldwide

The Theo Wolf Foundation continues to grow at an explosive rate. In the past year, requests for our Safe Sleep Kits have increased 900% from the year prior! These kits provide vital safe sleep tools to ensure infants are sleeping safely. In addition, we doubled the number of safe sleep trainings classes provided in 2023. We have received such positive feedback that our training is impactful, eye opening and educational.

In 2023, the CDC reported a 3% increase in infant mortality rates for the U.S. Our foundation is pleased with the progress we’ve made but clearly there is an overwhelming, unmet need regarding infant safe sleep resources and education. How can you help us save lives?

The Theo Wolf Foundation is organizing its 4th annual family friendly Charity Walk and Family FUNdraiser on June 1, 2024 at Susan Clark Junior High in Muscatine, IA. This event is a celebration of Theo’s heavenly birthday as well as a fundraiser where all proceeds will be used for infant safe sleep resources and education for the public. The goal of our Charity Walk is to raise awareness and promote safe sleep, one step at a time. Our Family FUNdraiser will include vendors providing education on infant and child safety as well as having safe and fun family activities for the community to enjoy.

Will you consider helping us with an in-kind donation for our silent auction?  We can assure you that your donation will be put to good use on keeping infants safe!

The Theo Wolf Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so your donation qualifies for tax exemption. A donation receipt will be provided for all sponsorships and donations.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and generous support of our mission in saving lives. We stand by the phrase “Safe Sleep, Every Sleep.”
