Strut Your Mutt, a peer-to-peer fundraiser hosted by Best Friends Animal Society, is our largest fundraiser of the year.  With 162 people registered on our team last year, we had the largest team out of 270 in the nation and were the top-performing team in the country, raising just under $100,000, which is about a third of our annual operating expenses.  

Although there is typically an in-person component in San Francisco, this year Strut Your Mutt will be entirely online, with fundraising occuring from Aug. 1 - Oct. 31.  Strut Your Mutt Day itself is on Oct. 23.  You can see coverage on our performance at last year's event here or here.

We are an entirely volunteer-operated, foster-based rescue serving boxers in need throughout northern California.  We prioritize the most vulnerable dogs, including those who are ill, injured, senior, or at shelters where the risk of shelter euthanasia is the highest.  On average, each adult dog in our care costs us about four times its adoption fee, and each senior (which constitute about a quarter of our intake) costs us about 15 times its adoption fee.   The Strut Your Mutt fundraiser is critical to our ability to continue the work we do.
