Losoya Middle School (Tax ID: 74-1496715) is a Title 1 campus at Southside Independent School District that serves approximately 650 students of diverse learning backgrounds. Currently, we are in the midst of dealing with the long term ramifications of COVID-19 on students, teachers, and community.  Nonetheless, our staff has been resilient and focused in meeting the needs of our kids. We are also attempting to create a stronger bond and rapport within the surrounding Losoya Community.

  Throughout the upcoming academic year we will embark on creating a climate centered on student/staff/community attendance and engagement.  The last two academic years have seen a significant drop in daily attendance and in order to curb those issues, we have created incentives for the students/staff.  In particular for students we would like to both reward and acknowledge their dedication for attending school on a daily basis. The potential of having various community partners contributing to our end of the year attendance celebration would be an ideal incentive to continue to encourage regular attendance. We plan to hold the event on May 23rd; the criteria the students need to meet is having perfect attendance for the upcoming months. We want to continue to highlight the importance of daily attendance and how it can impact the overall success of our students.  Our objective is to fund this initiative to show appreciation and support for hard working staff members in collaboration with neighboring stakeholders. We are hopeful that you may be willing to assist in fostering a climate of well-being at Losoya Middle School. 

We as a Losoya family would love to form a bond with various community partners and feel that this would be an ideal way to begin creating and sustaining that relationship.
