We will be kicking off the start of our Farmers Market in May, 2022. A pre-run will be done in April, 2022 before the official launch in May, 2022.

The farmers market is a community based food assistance program that will bring local, organic foods, fresh produce, and staple food and hygiene items to low-income residents. The CSA portion will include share splits with local small farmers to support local farming and reduce food waste. The community focused portion will provide EBT card holders and residents in need with access to free fresh produce and products from a farmers market situated within their local district.

The kick off event will feature food from a host farmer and a guest small farmer. The event will include giveaways to attendees of all ages, music, and a small auction.

The goals of the farmers market are to:

1. Support small farmers through the sale of their locally grown/produced products.
2. Reducing food waste by also providing access to locally grown/produced foods to low-income and in need residents.
