Description
The Jackson Public Library hosts an annual Summer Reading Program for children. This includes in-person events for children ages 0-5 and 5-12. All events are free and open to the public. The purpose of a summer reading program is to encourage students to read all summer and which helps maintain their reading skills for school in the fall, to foster the habit of life-long reading, and to encourage reluctant readers to be engaged in actiities that support reading over the summer. The summer programs can aslo encourage individual, family, and community interest in the library and reading.
