Each summer, our library challenges readers of all ages to continue learning and exploring while school is not in session. Our goal is to combat the documented summer slide that occurs without continual educational practice, and make sure students are prepared to succeed when they return to the classroom in the fall. 

This year, we're challenging readers to log 600 minutes of reading time in June and July, and seeking prize items that can be used to reward their hard work. Each reader will win small prizes as they complete challenge milestones throughout the summer, and then have the opportunity to win several grand prizes for their participation and completion. The challenge is completely free, and open to all ages. 

Our grand prize giveaway and celebration of summer will take place at our annual Back to School Block Party in August, and reward our readers as they have fun with all of the community.
