Walnut Creek Christian Academy is a small, non-profit private school in Contra Costa County. During
COVID our school library underwent a major culling and updating process, getting rid of outdated
materials and creating a more inviting space for the students when they did return to school in person.
As a result, the library has seen a huge increase in circulation and usage. Enter our upcoming summer
reading challenge! We want to our students’ enthusiasm for reading to carry over into the summer
months, not only to combat summer slide but also to cultivate a lifelong love of reading and learning.
We offer prizes to our summer reading challengers and hope you will partner
with us. A random drawing will determine the winners, leveling the playing field between our enthusiastic readers and our reluctant readers. Your generous
donation will be acknowledged in communications with our school families, in social media posts over
the summer and finally at our reading challenge party set for mid-August.
