Hello,

I’m the new Outreach and Special Projects Librarian with the Grand Prairie Public Library System - I’ll be organizing this year’s Summer Reading Club program!

Summer Reading Club is a Summer-long campaign consisting of weekly performers/special guests, educational storytimes, arts and crafts, outdoor activities and STEM programming at the three Grand Prairie Library locations! We do this to keep students busy and learning while school is not in session. Along with the programming, we urge patrons of all ages to read, read, read and offer prizes as incentive.

Our program will look a little different again this year due to COVID, but our patrons needs remain the same and we are hopeful that we will still be able to serve our community by offering free high-quality programming and encouraging reading over the Summer!

To add to the fun and to create a sense of challenge that will keep kids reading, we’d still like to offer incentives and contest prizes for hours read during the summer.

Truly though, it wouldn’t be a successful SRC without a boost from our valued community partners – and that’s where we need your help.

We appreciate any donation you care to make.

Possible donations include items to give away as prizes, such as small toys, bookmarks, swag or coupons for free goods or services (admission tickets, fast food coupons)!

We will mention the assistance you have generously donated in our publicity.
