The Emmaus Public Library Summer Reading Club promotes reading for all ages through events and incentives. This year's theme is "Oceans of Possiblities" and will run from June 13-August 13.
Children receive a bead for each hour of reading and a prize for every two hours of reading. Teens receive a raffle ticket for each hour of reading for a chance at one of several donated gift cards/baskets. Adults who submit a book review receive a chance at donated giftcards/baskets.
Everyone gets swag and a free book just for signing up.
Reading is recorded on either paper logs or through the Beanstack app.
Events are held throughout the summer.
The Summer Reading Kickoff party is held outside on Saturday, June 18th from 11am to 3pm and includes music, games, prizes, food, and, of course, signups for Summer Reading Club. Last year, about 400 community members attended.
Last year, a total of 669 community members signed up for the program.
