The annual summer reading program is a program to encourage a lifelong love of reading and to encourage children to keep reading through the summer months.  Reading through the summer months helps to maintain the reading skills learned through the school year while preventing summer slide.  Through reading incentives and engaging programs, public libraries encourage the love of reading, educational experiences and community engagement in our youth.
