The Anna Porter Public Library's summer reading program starts on June 2, 2023 and ends on July 31, 2023.   The Anna Porter Public Library has been an integral part of the Gatlinburg community. Our mission is to strengthen our community through literacy and lifelong learning by providing equal access to materials for everyone. We are not only a place to stop in and read a good book; we are a center for discovery, exploring, creativity, and empowerment.

The summer reading program helps both students and adults with improvements in memory, increased focus and concentration, reduced stress levels, better cognitive ability, enhanced empathy, and improved creativity. The summer reading program help students retain the reading skills they learned during school, and helps prevent “reading gap,” a loss of reading ability while school is out. Here at the library, we also do various hands-on programs that are open to everyone in our community.  The support we get from the community through donations would be a wonderful asset and will be greatly appreciated.
