Our annual Summerbration event is our largest fundraiser for the year. The proceeds of this event help us achieve our mission to connect EVERYONE to the wonders of the parks. With an emphasis on everyone, we focus on removing barriers to outdoor experiences for those with physical or cognitive challenges as well as those from underrepresented communities. 

Last year we raised funds to purchase assisted hearing devices for all of our park system centers. These devices allow groups and individuals to more deeply engage in enviornmental programs and presentations. 

We achive our mission though various special programs in the park district. 
Adapted Recreation programs - Ensure access and adapted gear for persons with physical and cognitive disabilities, including autism camp opportunities.
Pathways Internships - Provide young adults, particularly those facing barriers to employment, with paid internships to explore a career in nature related fields.
Explorer Camps - Provide outdoor recreation and nature education to youth in under-represented communities though our Parks on the Go van and related programs.
