Description

The Summit is a community-based non-profit that has been serving north metro Atlanta for 35 years. At The Summit, we provide comprehensive behavioral health services for all ages and stages of life, from young children to seniors.  Over 65% of those served by The Summit each year are under the age of 23. We have therapists onsite at 32 schools (29 Fulton Co Schools, 2 DeKalb Co Schools and 1 in Gwinnett Co). The Summit also has 6 community-based offices and a therapist onsite providing services at North Fulton Community Charities. Additionally, since the Summit believes that emotional wellbeing is the key to healthy communities, we partner with local organizations and businesses to provide free mental health awareness and suicide prevention trainings to help remove the stigma surrounding mental health.

Like most non-profits, the vital mission of The Summit is fueled by fundraising. We raise funds to ensure that anyone in need of mental health support has the needed access regardless of their financial standing. We are holding our 10th Annual Summit Gala on March 22nd at the Hotel at Avalon. This year’s keynote speaker is Erin Harlow- Parker of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Not only has Erin been in the mental health space for over 25 years but she is the late wife of Marta CEO, Jeff Parker. Jeff tragically took his own life by suicide. Erin will be speaking about the importance of removing the stigma around men’s mental health and general preventative information around mental wellness.

Each year at our gala, over 500 community leaders and Summit supporters come together to celebrate the joy and generosity, a passion for community, and a commitment to support mental wellness.  We are committed to providing our services for people in need – even for those who cannot afford the full cost of counseling.  The funds raised at this event help subsidize the cost of counseling for children, adults, and families in our community.
