Description

To Whom it May Concern,

Huntington SEPTA advocates for and supports the special education community, as well as all students, in the Huntington School District. We are parent volunteers working with our district’s teachers, administrators, the community, and the Special Education and Student Support (SESS) departments.

Huntington SEPTA provides valuable programs, workshops, and classroom materials for the children and staff within Huntington School District 3. Thanks to generous donations, Huntington SEPTA has been able to fund many initiatives and supplement classroom curriculum, including providing software for students with autism; Smart boards and I-pads; speech and language materials; flexible seating (such as wiggle seats, motion stools, and balance balls); yoga teacher-training for Adaptive Physical Education; games and materials for social skills clubs; and opportunities for our students to participate in STEM activities. Huntington SEPTA also awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors each year.

In addition, Septa sponsors events and activities for ESY (Extended School Year) students.  Septa provides fun  activities on “Fun Fridays”.  These activities include programs from Long Island Childrens’ Museum, Mad Science (Stem), visits to the Cinema Arts Theater, visiting petting zoo, “Super Hero Super Me” day featuring Lego comic books about superheroes that are kids, with every student receiving their own hero cape to decorate and Lego figure. We supply the older students learning life skills gift cards they use to go shopping to learn about budgeting.  The finale is an end of summer school party.

It is Huntington SEPTA’s mission to promote quality education for all students with special needs. We could not do this without your help.

We thank you for any contribution you can make. And in an effort to keep our activities green, please accept our thanks and gratitude for your generous support in advance. You can use this letter for tax purposes. SEPTA’s EIN number is 11-3289388.

Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

SEPTA Fundraising Committee
