SUNY Polytechnic Institute will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on February 4, 2023 in conjunction with doubleheader basketball games. Youth from the community will be invited and a youth girls basketball team will scrimmage at haltime of our women's game. The youth players will have an opportunity to meet with our varsity student-athletes following their game over pizza and drinks. Participation in athletics continues to play a pivotal role in the lives of young girls as they navigate the terrain of adolescence. Mentorship and having visible role models matters, and we aim to assist with this endeavor in sponsorsing this event.
