THE APPRENTICESHIP:

Our Apprenticeship program is a 1-2 year program focused on disciplines in Client Services, Strategy, UX/UI, Copywriting, and Design. During their time with Brass Tacks, apprentices work with real clients, receive ongoing education through workshops with BT Foundry, and work with real clients as they are guided by industry professionals with Brass Tacks Collective.

This program is catered towards Bootcamp graduates and college seniors who need to gain experience and develop a portfolio, all while being paid a living wage ($20-$27.50/hr with full benefits). Apprentices can also receive financial assistance through the Community Council of Greater Dallas and Dallas College.

BOOTCAMP:

This fully immersive, 16-week tuition-based pilot program (scholarships are available through partnerships with the Community Council of Greater Dallas) is a precursor to the Apprenticeship program. It is designed to build creative and professional skills for those without college educations or experience in the creative industry through instruction, professional development, and real client work. Participants have the opportunity to apply their knowledge by working with a real client throughout the program.

During this program, participants begin with a foundation in strategy and branding, then move forward into individual disciplines of strategy, copy, and design. Each individual is given the opportunity to present their concepts for potential prize money and is able to use their final case studies in job-seeking efforts.

Our Bootcamp is focused not only on technical proficiencies, but on self-awareness, communication, conflict resolution, and collaboration.

WORK-STUDY:

This professional development program is designed to diversify workforce outcomes for high school students in Dallas to prepare them to obtain gainful employment after high school or expand their creative industry skills by becoming a BT Foundry Apprentice.

Our program provides an affordable alternative to college, a gateway into the creative industry, and allows students to determine if it’s the right career path for them. Students have the opportunity to strengthen their strategic, copywriting, and design skills while refining their self-management, collaboration, and client communication skills.
