Other Event Type for Izaak Walton League of America Inc - Rockville ChapterMay 03, 2024 from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM
The Izaak Walton League of America – Rockville Chapter, a registered 503c charity, is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to Conservation, Education, and Recreation. Founded in 1933 in Rockville, the chapter is now based on scenic grounds amid Seneca Creek State Park. Our mission is to conserve, maintain, protect, and restore natural resources, including soil, forest, water, and other elements of the environment.
We rely heavily on our member volunteers to maintain their 51+ acres and provide a wide range of activities. Whether it’s trail repair, wood duck box cleaning, NRA training courses, or youth conservation education, the chapter encourages all members to get involved and contribute to their mission. If you’re interested in helping, we have several critical openings for volunteers, including positions related to donations, capital improvement grants, and more.
We are holding a silent auction on May 3rd to help support the Lake Sediment Control Project, as the wildlife in and around out lake through the years have left their mark and the long term health of the three-acre Jim Berrier Memorial Lake is important to not only our members, but our mission statement.
If you’d like to learn more or contribute, you can visit our website: Izaak Walton League Rockville Chapter. Your support would be greatly appreciated!
We are hopeful you are able to help us in supporting our cause.
