Tabemasho 2022: Welcome Back!
Gala/Party for Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern CaliforniaSep 17, 2022 from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM
The Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (the Center), is an established institution in San Francisco Japantown, owned and operated by the community it serves. The Center provides more than 185,000 people annually with unique and community-oriented workshops, weekly educational programs and special cultural events for the Bay Area and beyond.
We are pleased to announce the return of "Tabemasho 2022: Welcome Back!" on Saturday September 17, 2002. Tabemasho (which translates to "let's eat!") is the Center's largest annual fundraiser, bringing together our donors, supporters and community members for a matsuri (festival) style celebration, featuring food and cultural artisans directly from Japan. Each year (with the exception of 2020 and 2021 which were held virtually), the Center hosts nearly 400 guests in historic San Francisco Japantown to gather for an evening of food, sake tasting, entertainment, cultural workshops, live auction and sweepstakes raffle drawing. In the past, we have been able to raise more than $40,000 through our annual Fall Auctions, both live and online, and a Sweepstakes Raffle drawing. This year marks our 17th year of auctions, and we would like to extend an opportunity to donors to participate in these opportunities to help us reach our largest fundraising goal of the year.
We are prepared to offer our donors valuable exposure to thousands of individuals and businesses. Donations to the Center's event will show comittment to building a stronger community; demonstrate support for a long-standing organization and provide future generations a place to experience and preserve Japanese culture. Our donors' generosity will truly make a difference to the success of the Center after a difficult pandemic in which we were closed for 417 days.
