Description

Event Details:

Friends and family of Max Kamin-Cross have teamed up with the DC Abortion Fund (DCAF) again this year for “Taking it to the Max," a fundraiser for DCAF and a loving tribute to Max.

Max was a force in the DC community and a major advocate for progressive causes, including abortion access, throughout his life. With multiple cases affecting reproductive rights on the Supreme Court docket this spring and presidential elections around the corner, DCAF's work has never been more important. In reflection of Max's love for DC, this event is aimed at benefiting the DC community at large.

We are reaching out to DC organizations we think reflect the vibrant DC community and support causes near to Max’s heart. This should be a great opportunity for silent auction donors to both promote their business and support an important cause. All silent auction donation proceeds will go directly to benefit DCAF and are tax deductible based on the value of the item. In past years organizations have donated gift baskets including food and beverages, gift cards, and other business-specific items. If you are willing to donate a silent auction item, we would greatly appreciate it.

More on DCAF:

DCAF helps pay for the abortion care of anyone living in or traveling to the DC Metro region, without restrictions or requirements. DC is a vital access point for the entire East Coast, so DCAF helps break down the legal, financial, and geographic hurdles that abortion seekers, near or far, are forced to face—all thanks to the power of mutual aid. Alongside sibling funds, national organizations, and clinics around the DMV, DCAF works to supersede any and all systemic barriers to abortion access.
