Hello!

My name is JD Simmons and I’m a Police Officer with The Colony Police Department (Texas). I am currently assigned as a School Resource Officer with the Lewisville Independent School District. I’m also a Regional Director with TASRO (Texas Association of School Resource Officers) where I voluntarily serve nearly 300 School based Police Officers in NE Texas. We are excited to announce TASRO’s 10th Annual School Safety Conference on July 23-27, 2023, which will be held at the Omni Hotel in Corpus Christi, Texas! Last year’s conference in San Antonio (June 26-30, 2022) was host to over 450 School Based Law Enforcement Professionals from across our state, and the nation! This year we’ve already registered over 500! 

Our mission as school-based police officers is to Bridge the Gap between Cops and Kids! TASRO, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, provides training and higher education to school resource officers, school administrators, educators, counselors, and juvenile justice professionals who work with youth throughout the State of Texas. Our conferences give our attendees access to some of the best trainers from across the nation and we’re fully endorsed by the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO). 

Being a non-profit organization, survival depends heavily on donations from our supporters. As a TASRO board member, I am reaching out to your organization to request your support to help make this year’s conference the best one yet!
