Description

Due to the continued uncertainty of the pandemic, we have decided to forgo hosting UPAC's traditional Annual Leadership Awards Dinner. In lieu of this event, we will be hosting the Taste of Cultural at UPAC's Neighborhood Enterprise Center.  This new, less formal, outdoor-based event will take place on Wednesday, May 18th at 4:30pm and will give guests a unique tasting experience, while learning about our social enterprise. Attendees will indulge in various small plates, created and served by the youth who work at UPAC's Neighborhood Cafe & Catering Services. Each dish will represent a unique culture from the City Heights neighborhood that will celebrate the vibrant diversity of the community. Through the "Taste of Culture" event we hope to bridge cross-cultural understanding, connect partners and friends with UPAC's mission and raise funds for our vital programs and services.

The event will include a cultural small-plate component, a short program (to begin at 6pm) and a condensed silent auction. Attendees will be offered the opportunity to tour UPAC's Neighborhood Enterprise Center where we mentor, train and employ at-risk youth while offering resources to the community such as a food distribution, CAL Fresh applications, access to computers and more.

Proceeds from this event will support UPAC's mission of improving the general wellbeing of ethnically and culturally diverse populations across San Diego County. To learn more about the comprehensive health and human services we offer such as culturally responsive mental health counseling, addiction treatment & recovery, and community engagement, visit www.upacsd.com.
