Description

As school budgets are being cut, especially in the arts, music booster organizations, like ourselves, are always trying to think of new ways to raise funds for these valuable programs. Our 5th Annual “Taste of the World” fundraiser will showcase the diverse ethnic foods and music of the Nutley community and surrounding area and will raise funds for the Nutley Instrumental Music Programs.

We are requesting a donation, for our 5th Annual “Taste of the World” Fundraiser on January 25, 2020. With the continued support and generosity of local and national organizations, like yours, this event has raised over $48,000 of much needed funds for our music programs. We hope you can assist us by providing a donation to our tricky tray/auction portion of this event.

The object of the Nutley Music Boosters Association is to arouse and maintain an enthusiastic interest in the various phases of the instrumental music programs of the Nutley Public School system and to lend all possible support, bothmoral and financial, to these music programs and student participants. The NAMM Foundation has selected the Nutley School District as one of the “Top 100 Communities for Music Education” for the past 11 years in a row.

2020 marks our 45th year of providing support to all of our instrumental music students and teachers from elementary up to high school. In the high school we provide scholarships and various support to our award-winning programs that include, Marching Band, Concert Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Indoor Percussion and Winter Guard. Our ensembles over the years have had the opportunity to perform locally, nationally and internationally including at Carnegie Hall, Australia, Italy, the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville and mostly recently in 2019 in Williamsburg, Virginia. Our Raider Marching Band has also had a distinguished record of performances throughout the United States including most recently in the 2015 and 2017 TaxSlayer Bowls in Jacksonville, Florida and the recipient of the grand prize in both years. We are looking forward to continuing this tradition of excellence when we go to California in February 2020 as entire music department.

The foundation of any program is where it begins. We teamed with up the Nutley Educational Foundation in 2017 to provide much needed percussion equipment that was well over 50 years old to our middle school program. In addition, we assist our elementary and middle school musicians by providing scholarships to a student in each of our five elementary schools and two from the middle school to attend the Nutley Summer Music Program, a 5-week program that provides for individual/small group instruction and college music prep courses. Lastly, we assisted with the purchase of new marching band uniforms and raincoats that debuted this past Fall 2019.

However, we cannot provide the above opportunities to our children without the generous support of organizations and companies like yourself. We hope you will be able to support us in our continued efforts.
