"Tastes from Around the World" is a fundraising event that celebrates teh diverse culture among the patients and communities that Siouxland Community Health Center serves. Attendees purchasing a ticket can enjoy various types of cuisine, musical performances, and bid on a wide selection of auction items. The 2024 event will feature guest speaker Christian Okoye, former Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro running back that was dubbed "The Nigerian Nightmare." The event benefits patient programs and services that assist with basic needs such as clothing, transportation, prescriptions, essentials for infant care, a mobile shower for the homeless, diabetes education, and other funds that support other areas of greatest need that often result from the social drivers that influence health disparities.
