Thanks For My Sight Night, (Sight Night) is an annual fundraiser gala with dinner, live music, dancing, a silent auction, and raffles. The evening is hosted by The Eye Foundation of Canada (EFC) an independent non-profit organization founded in 1989 that remains committed to its mission to “promote the preservation, enhancement, and restoration of sight through innovative research, advanced education, and improvement of patient care.”

 Sight Night raises awareness of eye care and helps support research while raising funds for the EFC Summer Scholarship Program, which started in 1991. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding medical students to encourage them to pursue an academic career in ophthalmology. EFC Graduates are becoming significant in the ophthalmic community. Over the past ten years alone, the EFC has helped 20 students enter into advanced training to become eye surgeons by awarding scholarships, and, in turn, many have also become mentors to other EFC Summer Scholarship recipients.

 As the key fundraising event for EFC, Sight Night attracts more guests every year. This special event is attended by medical doctors, medical students, opticians, professionals, community partners, family, friends, patients, and board members of the Foundation.
