The 47th Annual Awards Recognition Event of Disabled Resources Center, Inc. (DRC) will be held on Thursday evening, July 27, 2023, at 5:30 p.m., at The Grand Event Center, 4101 E. Willow St., Long Beach, CA 90815. This year’s theme is “Endless Possibilities.”  DRC’s annual gala not only honors advocacy, but also presents academic scholarships. Individuals and organizations in the community who demonstrate advocacy of independent living for people with disabilities are honored in three categories: the Jerry Stein Memorial Independent Living Award; the Civic Leadership Award; and the Community Service Award. DRC volunteers will be honored with the Ellard and Foafoa Volunteer of the Year Awards. Scholarships will be presented in three categories: the Outstanding Military Veteran Scholarship; two scholarships for students with disabilities attending Long Beach City College; and two scholarships for students with disabilities attending California State University, Long Beach.

DRC requests your sponsorship and/or a donation of 10 general admission tickets for fundraising purposes. All proceeds realized from donations of items for the Silent Auction will go to support the Center’s programs and services in the community. Everything is free of charge to DRC consumers. Donor organizations will be listed in the Event Program, on DRC’s website (http://drcinc.org), and in DRC’s Quarterly Newsletter. As a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) agency, DRC has served people with all disabilities in the greater Long Beach area since 1976, and holds Federal nonprofit tax identification number 51-0204442.
