Description

The Gatehouse "Healing the Voice Within" is a one-of-a-kind art exhibit that gives voice and healing to those traumatized by childhood sexual abuse, and will help raise awareness and much-needed funds for important initiatives at The Gatehouse.  Dozens of powerful art images on display come from a 12-week visual arts support group at The Gatehouse facilitated by Lacey Ford and Pearl Lee, of Full Circle Art Therapy Centre.

You can be a part of helping children, youth and adults heal from childhood abuse by supporting The Gatehouse with a donation.  Your donation will bring us closer to our ultimate goal of raising $75,000 that will be used to support Gatehouse programs and services.

Many individuals and community leaders are on board to help bring awareness, prevention and healing to those affected by childhood sexual abuse. Your donation helps to keep our programs available for free to those affected by this horrendous crime.

The Gatehouse is a safe place for children to disclose abuse to police and child welfare workers, as well as a support network for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.  As a part of the healing process, The Gatehouse offers a comforting healing atmosphere for Toronto Police and other child welfare organizations to conduct interviews with children and their families.  The Gatehouse uses transformative learning and healing processes, including: peer support groups, meditation, mindfulness and a healing garden to transform trauma of abuse into a state of personal triumph.

32% of Canadians had experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, and exposure to intimate partner violence or a combination of these during childhood. Our organization is dedicated to the process of education, prevention and healing for those affected by childhood sexual abuse. We need your help to keep making this happen.  As a charitable organization, our peer support and investigation support programs are offered to participants at no cost.

We are happy to acknowledge your donation on our website, social media outlets (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), during the event on a PowerPoint Presentation.

I would like to thank you for considering this opportunity to support our organization in raising funds. If you have any questions or would like more information about The Gatehouse, our programs and services, please kindly vist our website at: www.thegatehouse.org

Thank you,

Respectfully,
