Description

On September 30th, 2018, while hiking, twelve-year-old Andrew McMorris and his Boy Scout Troop 161, were struck by a drunk driver. Four boys were initially injured. Andrew incurred massive trauma and passed away. The lives of his family and friends were forever changed.

As this amazing child was denied the opportunity to grow and continue impacting the world through his generosity, kindness and leadership, The Andrew McMorris Foundation was established to nurture this legacy on his behalf. Our mission is to honor the life of Andrew McMorris by creating opportunities for education, scholarships, advocacy and change that make a meaningful impact on the lives of other children. AMF is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, which means that there are a variety of ways to make a meaningful contribution to the realization of the Foundation’s goals.

Our 5th Annual Fundraising event is scheduled for September 29th, 2023. This is a valuable opportunity to come together in support of the values Andrew exemplified during the 12 years before his life was taken, and the mission of the Foundation that was created in his name to make a meaningful impact for others. Last year we were able to hand out over $22,000 in scholarships and grants to deserving students throughout Long Island as well as partake in legislative work nationally to advocate alongside MADD.  This year, we’re raising the bar even higher to expand nationally.
