Description

We are proud to be celebrating The 25th Annual Darling Home for Kids Classic this summer. 25 years of birdies and bogeys. 25 years of long drives and sweet putts. And most importantly, 25 years spent raising over $2.3million for the core programs and services at The Darling Home for Kids!  The 2021 DHK Classic sold out and we are well poised for the same result this year! With the help of our loyal friends and supporters, we’ve grown this event year over year. These proceeds were instrumental in opening our doors in 2004, and since have helped us to expand our Home in 2008, supporting vital programs and services.

As Canada’s only paediatric organization providing respite, residential, and hospice services, we enrich the lives of children day-to-day and help them reach their full potential. The past two years have challenged all of us in ways we could never have imagined, and while there is certainly a new dawn on the horizon, the toll that the pandemic has taken on all of us will be felt for a long time to come. This is especially true for those we serve at The Darling Home for Kids. Our families, who rely on our services, have experienced more challenges than ever before in caring for their children with complex medical needs. While our doors have remained open for families in crisis, our typical respite and hospice palliative programming was suspended multiple times to ensure the health and safety of our immunocompromised residents.

As we work to reintegrate families into our respite and palliative services and offer both in-person and virtual Family Support programs to meet the increasing mental health needs of our families, we will also be maintaining crisis services and beds available to those who may need them at a moment’s notice. Many new families have been waiting for our services for more than two years, and we are eager to provide them with the help they need and have been desperately waiting for.
